On the Road to a Zero Waste Future: Melbourne 2019

Never has a road trip been more appropriately named.

When Robert Ferguson, our Lead on Public Health and Waste, started planning a study tour to see how Victorian businesses are incorporating recycled product into their roads, he wasn’t expecting an entire busload of willing participants.

In the end, Robert had more than 30 delegates – from 15 councils, Queensland Government departments and the Treasury Corporation – getting up close and personal with some innovating road making.

And, with Queenslanders producing more than 10 millions of waste each year, Robert’s group saw there are ample opportunities ahead.
