About LGAQ events

The Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ) is 100% council-owned and has been advising, supporting and representing local government since 1896 – almost 125 years.

Our events are designed and targeted to inform, engage and guide those working in and leading our 77 local councils so they are best prepared to lead their communities.

Some of our regular events include Bush Councils Convention, Disaster Management Conference, Waste Forums and Media & Communications Seminar. Our premier and largest event each year is our three-day Annual Conference, which brings together councils from all parts of the state for professional development and networking, and to debate issues of importance to their communities.
