Visitors in focus: Councillor Terry James

A recent visitor to Local Government House, Councillor Terry James from Cairns Regional Council spoke to us about Molly Steer, a 10 year old, grade 4 student from Cairns who has just won Cairns Young Woman of the Year for her idea, 'straw no more'. 'Straw no more' is a campaign to rid her home town and the Great Barrier Reef of single-use plastic straws. It's  a movement that has garnered global attention and has been taken up by more than 10,000 students across Australia.
