Cleaner Road Runoff Initiative

The LGAQ, in partnership with member councils, was successful in securing $1.6 million from the Great Barrier Reef Foundation (GBRF) to deliver the pilot study for the Cleaner Road Runoff Project, specifically targeting the impact of sediment runoff from unsealed roads.

Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Project

The Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ), in partnership with the Queensland Government and the Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Prevention Council, is supporting councils across the state to play a practical and valued role in DFV prevention.

Local Housing Action Plans

In 2023, the LGAQ in partnership with the Queensland Government provided support to assist Queensland councils in preparation and finalisation of a Local Housing Action Plan (LHAP) to strengthen partnerships between State and local governments on critical housing challenges and opportunities.

QCoast2100

QCoast2100 is a $26.2 million Queensland Government funding program delivered in partnership with the LGAQ. The program helps councils to prepare and implement coastal hazard adaptation strategies and funds on-ground works that reduce the coastal hazard threat.

Queensland Water Regional Alliance Program

The Queensland Water Regional Alliance Program (QWRAP) is a collaborative initiative between the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ), Queensland Water Directorate (qldwater), the Department of Local Government, Water and Volunteers (DLGWV), and participating councils.
