Your input is important: draft documents for new Councillor Complaints system

Friday, 8 June 2018

We have been working with the Local Government Liaison Group to provide documents that will become integral to the new Councillor Complaints system. These documents will assist with implementation of the new system and become important guides to working within the system into the future.

This is your chance to provide feedback on these important documents so please take the time to review them and submit your feedback.

Should you wish to discuss the documents further please contact Stephan Bohnen, Intergovternmental Team, LGAQ on 1300 542 700.

Draft copies for consultation are:

  • Councillor Conduct
  • Councillor Conduct Examples
  • Model Meeting Procedures
  • Standing Orders for Council Meetings including Standing Committees ‘Best Practice Guide’ and
  • Investigation Policy to Queensland Local Government Chief Executive Officers

CLICK through to LG Online (member access required) to view the draft documents, more background information and details on how to submit your feedback to the Department by Friday, 29 June 2018.

NOTE: A key component of these reforms includes removing a council’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Department from the process of making preliminary assessments of complaints.
