Resource Recovery Roadmap and Action Plan - have your say!
The draft Queensland Resource Recovery Industries 10-Year Roadmap and Action Plan (draft Roadmap) has been developed as an action under the Draft Waste Management and Resource Recovery Strategy. The Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning advised of its release for public consultation on 28th May.
The draft Roadmap provides industry and other stakeholders with an overview of the Queensland Government’s plan to drive the economic opportunities highlighted in the Waste Strategy.
It focuses on some key agendas including:
- working towards a circular economy
- treating waste as a resource
- market development
- policy and legislative frameworks, and
- advancing new technologies.
How you can contribute
The LGAQ will be making a submission to the Department on the draft Roadmap and is seeking your input on this matter. Please send your comments for consideration to Robert Ferguson, Lead - Public Health and Waste by Monday 10th June 2019 or call 1300 542 700 to discuss the matter further.
