Rental reforms: have your say now
Following on from the State Government’s ‘Open Doors to Renting Reform’ consultation program in 2018, the Department of Housing and Public Works has released a Consultation Regulatory Impact Statement – Stage 1 Reforms for comment.
The Consultation RIS identifies policy options to change Queensland’s tenancy laws, outlining the costs and benefits of each option and proposing recommended Stage 1 reforms for the following five priority areas:

Making a submission
The LGAQ is currently reviewing the Consultation RIS and welcomes member feedback.
If you have comments regarding the proposed reform options to change Queensland’s tenancy laws in relation to any of the five priority areas, please email these through to Crystal Baker, Lead – Planning and Development by COB Monday 16 December 2019.
The closing date for submissions to DHPW is 5pm Saturday 28 December 2019. Councils wishing to make their own submission to DHPW can do so by:
