Queensland councils light up screens
A brand new multimedia campaign showcasing the good work of Queensland councils is screening across the state.
We're proud to be behind a new local government awareness campaign playing across your big and small screens in Queensland.
What does it showcase?
- Real-life council heroes, performing the daily jobs that keep our communities safe, happy and healthy.
- Council jobs and responsibilities across a diverse set of locations.
- The pride of local government workers in serving their communities
Where and when will the campaign be playing?
- TV across Queensland, playing in three bursts between Nov 2018/19
Paid social media promotion (YouTube and Facebook) in three bursts between Nov 2018/19
How was the campaign paid for?
The LGAQ has paid for the production and airing of the multimedia campaign, across TV and digital. We’re the peak body representing councils across Queensland.
Was my ratepayer money used to fund the campaign?
No. The LGAQ has funded this entire campaign. Ratepayer money was not involved in its production. Paid subscriptions account for only 1/3rd of the LGAQ’s total revenue. The rest comes from business initiatives and government grants.
You can read more about how the LGAQ is funded on our website: http://www.lgaq.asn.au/about-us.
Why was the campaign created?
The LGAQ funded the campaign to showcase the important role of councils in the community. A big part of the campaign is to highlight the innovation and new technologies councils are using to achieve efficiencies and save cost for ratepayers.
Why am I seeing my council share content related to the campaign, or using the campaign branding?
As members of the LGAQ, Queensland councils were encouraged to get behind this campaign with a local message. Our campaign heroes are real-life council workers from across several Queensland locations – it’s a great message we know resonates with communities.
Councils can utilise the campaign assets we’ve created at no cost to their council.
Where was the ad filmed?
Filming took place in Cairns, Yarrabah, Emerald, Barcaldine, Bundaberg, Brisbane and Redlands. Our campaign heroes are real-life council workers from across these Queensland locations, chosen for their diversity.
