Proposed amendments to the Land Regulation 2009 - Have your say
The Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy is seeking feedback on proposed amendments to the Land Regulation 2009 (Land Regulation).
The Land Regulation sets out operational details that are fundamental for dealings in state land (such as leasehold and trust land), and administering the Land Act 1994.
The Department is proposing to remake the regulation broadly in the same form, with a number of changes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of certain existing processes and provisions, including:
- streamlining processes for making and adopting model by-laws for trust land
- modernising the competitive land ballot process for allocating state land, and
- streamlining processes for deferring rent or instalment due to hardship.
Have your say
A consultation paper has been developed to seek feedback on the proposed amendments. Submissions close at midnight on 6 December 2019.
The LGAQ is currently reviewing the Regulation and consultation paper and welcomes member feedback. Your contact for this matter is Kristy Gooding, Lead - Natural Assets and NRM on 1300 542 700.
