Our policy leaders meet on Friday
It's nearly the holiday season, but we've got an extraordinarily big finish to the year for the LGAQ.
We'll be looking at the 2020-2021 State Budget bid document, the draft Advocacy Action Plan and the draft Rural Water and Wastewater Options Paper at the meeting.
Responsible for the determination of the Association's policy on behalf of member councils, the Policy Executive consists of 15 district representatives and the President.
Each meeting of the year is an important step in the process of achieving the advocacy outcomes of the association.
Rural water and wastewater: As part of our continued advocacy for a strategic and planned approach to water reform we will be seeking endorsement of the LGAQ’s proposal on the Rural Water & Wastewater Program principles, components, governance requirements and desired outcomes.
2020 vision: We will also be asking for endorsement of two key documents to position the local government sector and leverage opportunities with both State and Federal Governments - the 2020 State Budget Submission and the draft 2020 Advocacy Action Plan.
We encourage you to read the meeting papers and the LGAQ Advocacy Action Plan. Should you have questions or suggestions relating to the agenda items be sure to contact your District Representative for further discussion. See the Policy Executive webpage for District Representative details.
The Business Paper and associated attachments (member access required) are now online for members.
