Under this agreement, we are seeking expressions of interest from trade and investment experts interested in mentoring mayors and CEOs, providing expert advice on trade and investment initiatives including the provision of strategic advice on hosting delegations and preparing for outbound missions.

  • preparation for inbound and outbound missions
  • hosting delegations
  • preparation of realistic and meaningful overseas travel and appointment schedules
  • understanding business practices and etiquette for/in different cultures
  • suitable marketing and promotional materials
  • identification of case studies for benchmarking performance and highlighting areas for further development.

To be successful in this role you will require:

  • Proven experience in the field of trade and investment
  • A good understanding of trade and investment initiatives
  • The ability to build strong relationships
  • A good understanding of business cultural awareness/intelligence
  • Extensive exposure to overseas markets relevant to the interests of Queensland.

This role would be a contracted position to the LGAQ (established in partnership with funding from Trade and Investment Queensland) and would require mentors to meet necessary requirements to provide consultation services (i.e. ABN etc.).

If you are interested or you know someone who might be, please contact LGAQ’s Senior Advisor for Trade and Investment, Paul Cranch, for more information.

The Expression of Interest will close COB on Thursday, 29 March 2018.
