Asbestos Workshops 2020 - are you interested?
It is a requirement of the State Government indemnity that council staff attend and complete this Queensland Government training in order for council to gain/retain that indemnity.
The workshop is relevant to council staff managing the administration and enforcement of the removal/disposal of domestic asbestos. Although this is not an accredited course, it is competency based, will be recognised throughout the state and is transportable between councils.
The Queensland Government will be scheduling at least one or two asbestos workshops for early/mid 2020. At this stage it appears the first will be in SEQ and may be as early as mid-February, based on interest.

The timing and location of subsequent workshop/s will be guided by the number and location of councils expressing interest in attending a workshop.

PLEASE NOTE: Providing your EOI does not commit you to attending or guarantee you a position, however based on recent experiences we should be in a position to accommodate most authorised council officers. Please also note that this course is run over two full days so please allow for this two day commitment.
