Have your say on the Future Drought Fund

Thursday, 7 November 2019

The LGAQ will be making a submission on the draft Drought Resilience Funding Plan released by the Federal Government. This plan is high-level framework that will guide funding decisions for projects under the Future Drought Fund.

Commencing in July 2020, the Federal Government will fund $100 million each year in projects and activities to enhance the drought resilience of Australian farms and communities. Funded projects will:

  • enhance public good by building drought resilience

  • help farms and communities be more prepared to respond to the impacts of drought

  • lift the productivity and profitability of the agriculture sector

  • enhance the health and sustainability of Australia’s farming.

If you would like to provide input into the LGAQ submission, please contact Kirsten Pietzner, Lead – Regional Development. Contributions need to be provided to Kirsten by 6 December 2019.
