Guidelines available for using water wisely in urban areas

Friday, 13 December 2019

With widespread drought conditions continuing to affect Queensland it’s more important than ever for water to be used efficiently.

To help residents, businesses, grounds-people and keep on top of their water use, DNRME has released "Efficient irrigation for water conservation: guidelines for water efficient urban gardens and landscapes". Have a look at the guidelines on the Queensland Government website.

These guidelines are for all urban irrigators across the state, and provide clear and useful guidance on establishing a water efficient garden or lawn and how to maintain it in a water smart way. DNRME is developing a pack of promotional material for government entities and councils to spread awareness of the guidelines, which will be available in early 2020.
