Draft SEQ Koala Conservation Strategy: have your say
The Draft Strategy outlines the Government's early actions and proposed future actions to improve koala conservation across SEQ.
Councils in the state’s south-east have a key role to play in protecting koala habitat – and the long-term future of one of our most treasured native animals.
The release of the draft SEQ Koala Conservation Strategy has been greeted positively, though councils have expressed disappointment at the lack of detail in the Strategy’s proposed planning reforms.
Member concerns will be gathered as part of a quickfire consultation process, culminating in a second LGAQ submission on the Strategy.
Kristy Gooding, the LGAQ’s Lead for Natural Assets and NRM, told Tim Cox where the State Government response aligns with councils’ vision – and where there’s work still be done.
