About the Forum

The Coastal Hazard Adaptation Program (QCoast2100) is a Queensland Government commitment of a $12 million fund over three years to assist 41 coastal councils advance coastal hazard adaptation planning.

Following the Program’s official launch and continuous local government engagement by the LGAQ, there has been a significant increase in interest and uptake for the Program.

To date, 11 councils have been awarded funding for the development of their Coastal Hazard Adaptation Strategy (CHAS) with many others in the process of scoping project proposals for grant funding applications.

This level of local government activity in adaptation planning presents an opportunity for practitioners and experts in key disciplines of a CHAS to share their experiences and capabilities with local governments and key stakeholders via the QCoast2100 Knowledge and Information Sharing Forums.
