Population Growth Public Inquiry




The Local Government Association of Queensland has announced it will be funding an independent public inquiry in 2010 into whether Queensland needs a population policy to guide its future growth.

The panel members and the Terms of Reference for the Inquiry will be released in early February 2010. The Inquiry will be required to conduct amongst other things, at least three public hearings around the state, the placement of public advertisements seeking submissions and the commissioning of community attitude surveys. It is expected the Inquiry will have completed its work by mid 2010.
