LGAQ President Cr Paul Bell AM

Welcome,

The Board and I are honoured to serve the local government movement, which is built on solid foundations of common purpose and joint action.

The Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ) has represented its member councils for over a century with three key strategies - leadership, representation and service.

My goals for Local Government

  1. Councillor remuneration
  2. Council insurance
  3. Road funding
  4. Review of the Local Government Act
  5. Review of the valuation system
  6. Implement new and fair regional planning arrangements
  7. Increase training and development opportunities for elected members and staff
  8. Tax deductions for election campaign expenses

I want to hear your comments and read your confidential emails.  Local government is a wealth of good ideas and talent.  We aim to harness that energy and enthusiasm through your emails as well as through a schedule of regular visits to Member Councils.  I aim to visit every council twice during my term.
